JrFLL

I remember when we were in Amarillo that we were challenged to help start and mentor some JrFLL teams. We are working on this now, and I wanted to check if there were any sponsorship funds that we can help them apply for? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Additional ideas for venue

• Does any one have contacts at any of the Southwest Learning Center schools? Looks like it might be a good match.
• FYI - Gary Bodman has been talking with Wilson Middle School personnel as a possible site.

Also, Manny is contacting someone at St. Pius X They have allowed large fencing tournaments on their property and might be willing to work with us. I will remind Manny to try to get info before the meeting on the 11th.

Is there an objection to talking with someone down at NM Tech? They are all about supporting this type of inspiration to youth. We just returned from the Science Olympiad States competition down there and the facility is fantastic.

I went online and checked City facilities, it seems like they don't have anything that would support the level of competition we expect. I will check school venues that can guarantee usage.

Essentials to sustain a Championship Tournament

At our meeting on February 20, we discussed 3 essentail criteria for sustaining a Championship level FLL tournament --

• funding - immediate need is for a volunteer to serve as the NMFLL Fund Development Coordinator
• venue - immediate need is to explore possibilities for ongoing venue partner
• volunteers - continuing need to sustain the growth in the volunteer population

Please provide input on these topics before the March 11 meeting of the NMFLL Core Committee.
